Science LionPride works to share our experiences and inform prospective students and their families about Penn State and the Eberly College of Science. Working closely with the Future Students Office, we show visiting students the types of opportunities available at Penn State, from study abroad to undergraduate research, as well as student life and activities around University Park.
Science LionPride offers science-specific tours to prospective students and their families. These generally circle the research labs, instructional labs, and classroom buildings that make up the Eberly College of Science in the center of campus. Smaller and more intimate than campus-wide tours, our tours allow for more one-on-one conversation between the tour guides and families for a more personalized experience. We also attempt to have guides matching the visiting student’s intended major for a more in-depth discussion in schoolwork and classes, though many majors within Eberly will have taken overlapping classes. In addition to these tours, we offer customized tours for various events throughout the year. Click here to download the tour route and script!
Students who have been offered admission to Penn State can choose to attend one of several Accepted Student Days throughout the Spring and learn more about Penn State. Science LionPride assists in tours and information sessions by speaking directly to students and families with other Eberly representatives, as well as providing some friendly faces for students accepted into the Eberly College of Science. We are also involved in the Spend a Summer Day program in a related capacity. By sharing our unique experiences through several avenues, Science LionPride hopes to inform prospective students both on the experiences offered to a Penn State science student, but also a sense of student life and what it means to be a part of Penn State.
